HEMAYAT ist eine Spezialeinrichtung für dolmetschgestützte, traumatherapeutische Betreuung und Behandlung von Folter- und Kriegsüberlebenden. Seit 1995 in Wien etabliert, bietet es kostenlose medizinische, psychologische und psychotherapeutische Unterstützung für Menschen aus 60 Ländern, unabhängig von ihrem Aufenthaltsstatus oder Krankenversicherung. Das Zentrum setzt sich besonders für die Bedürfnisse von Frauen, Kindern und Jugendlichen ein und arbeitet mit einem interkulturellen und kultursensiblen Ansatz. Die Betreuung ist ganzheitlich und umfasst psychotherapeutische Maßnahmen, medizinische Abklärung, Dolmetschunterstützung sowie ergänzende körperorientierte Behandlungsmethoden.
