Er wurde in Graz geboren und absolvierte sein Medizinstudium an der Medizinischen Universität Wien. Seine langjährige Expertise auf dem Gebiet der Herzschrittmacher-, Defibrillations- und Resynchronisierungstherapie wurde an der Universitätsklinik für Herzchirurgie in Wien erworben. Aschacher ist zudem Habilitierter im Fach Herzchirurgie und hat den Titel Dr. scient. med. erlangt. Seine Leidenschaft für Sportmedizin ermöglicht eine optimierte postoperative Betreuung und ein rasches Wiedererreichen der Lebensqualität für seine Patienten. Er bietet individuelle Beratung, präventive Maßnahmen, präoperative Gesundheitsberatung, Nachsorge und Hausbesuche an. Seine Forschungstätigkeiten führten zu Auszeichnungen wie dem Theodor-Billroth-Preis der Österreichischen Ärztekammer und dem Wissenschaftsfond des Bürgermeisters der Stadt Wien.
