Dr.in Miriam Kristin Hufgard-Leitner ist Oberärztin an der Abteilung für Endokrinologie und Stoffwechsel, Innere Medizin III, Medizinische Universität Wien (AKH Wien). Sie studierte Humanmedizin an der Medizinischen Universität Wien (2003–2010) und begann anschließend ein PhD-Studium zum Thema 'OMICS in glucose disrupted state'. Von 2013 bis 2021 war sie Fachärztin für Innere Medizin an der Abteilung für Endokrinologie und Stoffwechsel. Sie erwarb die ÖÄK-Diplome für Psychosoziale Medizin (2021), Psychosomatische Medizin (2021–2023) und Psychotherapeutische Medizin (seit 2022). Seit 2023 ist sie systemische Psychotherapeutin unter Supervision. Ihr Forschungsaufenthalt führte sie 2023 an das Weizmann Institute of Science in Israel. Sie ist Präsidentin der Organisation der Ärztinnen Österreichs und Mitglied mehrerer Fachgesellschaften. Derzeit befindet sie sich in Karenz.
