Er absolvierte sein Medizinstudium in Graz und Brest und schloss seine Facharztausbildung am Konventhospital der Barmherzigen Brüder Linz ab. Als Fellow of the European Board of Ophthalmology (FEBO) ist er einer der führenden Hornhautchirurgen Österreichs mit über 170 Hornhauttransplantationen pro Jahr. Dr. Jirak ist Mitbegründer der Eyelaser Augenlaserpraxis und bekannt für seine Expertise in Augenlaserkorrekturen, Hornhauttransplantationen und Behandlung von Grauem Star. Seine Arbeit umfasst auch die Betreuung von Kindern und die Durchführung von hochpräzisen chirurgischen Eingriffen in Kooperation mit Kliniken wie der Diakonissen Linz und dem Kepler Universitätsklinikum.
