Univ.-Prof. Dr. Stefan Marlovits ist ein national und international anerkannter Experte in der Diagnostik und Therapie von traumatischen und degenerativen Knorpelschäden. Seit über 25 Jahren ist die Knorpelforschung einer seiner wissenschaftlichen Schwerpunkte und Gegenstand zahlreicher Publikationen. Er leitete die Spezialambulanz für traumatische Gelenkknorpelschäden an der Universitätsklinik für Unfallchirurgie im AKH Wien und war maßgeblich an der Entwicklung neuer biologischer Techniken in der Knorpelchirurgie beteiligt. Nach mehrjährigen Auslandsaufenthalten ist er nun im Knorpelzentrum Wien tätig und leitet das Zentrum für Knorpelregeneration und Orthobiologie an der Privatklinik Döbling. Er ist Universitätsprofessor an der Medizinischen Universität Wien und Mitglied zahlreicher nationaler und internationaler Fachgesellschaften (ESSKA, ICRS). Als zertifizierter Knorpelspezialist (QKG) behandelt er alle Formen von Knorpelschäden und Arthrose mit konservativen, operativen und orthobiologischen Methoden.
