Seine Habilitationsschrift an der Medizinischen Universität Graz (2010) befasste sich mit offener und laparoskopischer organerhaltender Chirurgie des Nierentumors. Zu seinen chirurgischen Schwerpunkten zählen die uroonkologische Tumorchirurgie von Niere, Blase und Prostata, die organerhaltende Nierentumorchirurgie, minimalinvasive Chirurgie (Laparoskopie), Laseroperation der Prostata bei gutartiger Prostatavergrößerung und die endoskopische Behandlung von Nierensteinerkrankungen. Er bietet auch eine Videosprechstunde an.
