Prof. Dr. Alexander Meng ist Facharzt für Neurologie und Psychiatrie mit langjähriger Expertise in der Integration der Traditionellen Chinesischen Medizin (TCM) in die westliche Medizin. Er studierte Medizin an der Universität Wien und promovierte 1975. Seit 1982 ist er Facharzt, ab 1990 als Oberarzt an der Neurologischen Abteilung im Krankenhaus Hietzing tätig, wo er 1983 die Schmerz-Akupunktur-TCM-Ambulanz gründete und leitete. Meng engagiert sich seit 1972 im Ludwig Boltzmann Institut für Akupunktur und gründete 1975 den Österreichischen Arbeitskreis für Tuina-Therapie. Er erhielt 1996 den Titel 'Professor' und 2018 das Silberne Ehrenzeichen der Ärztekammer für Wien. International ist er als Vice Chairman und Board Member des Specialty Committee of TCM Psychology der World Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies (WFCMS) aktiv. Meng lehrte an der Fachhochschule Campus Wien und am Lifu International College of Chinese Medicine in Basel. Seine Forschungsschwerpunkte liegen in der Akupunktur, Tuina-Therapie, Qigong und TCM, wobei er zahlreiche wissenschaftliche Beiträge und Fachbücher verfasst hat. Seine Praxis kombiniert neurowissenschaftliche und TCM-Ansätze zur Behandlung von chronischen Schmerzen, psychischen Störungen und vegetativen Dysfunktionen.
