Dr. med. univ. Gerhard Oberthaler, geboren am 11. November 1960 in Linz, studierte Medizin in Innsbruck und promovierte 1986. Nach der Ausbildung zur Allgemeinmedizin im Krankenhaus der Barmherzigen Schwestern in Linz absolvierte er die Facharztausbildung in Unfallchirurgie am Unfallkrankenhaus Salzburg. Von 1997 bis 2020 war er Oberarzt im Unfallkrankenhaus Salzburg und eröffnete 1997 seine Ordination. Dr. Oberthaler ist Mitglied in renommierten Fachgesellschaften wie der Gesellschaft für Orthopädisch-Traumatologische Sportmedizin, der Deutschen Arbeitsgemeinschaft für Arthroskopie und der Österreichischen Gesellschaft für Unfallchirurgie. Er ist Teamarzt des EC Red Bull Salzburg, des Österreichischen Eishockeyverbandes und des Österreichischen Skiverbandes sowie Lehrtätiger an der Sportuniversität Salzburg. Zudem ist er Medical Consultant der Firma CAMARO und engagiert sich in der Produktentwicklung für die Snowboardfirma FLOW. Dr. Oberthaler bietet konservative und operative Behandlungen in Unfallchirurgie und Sporttraumatologie an, darunter Gelenkschirurgie, Arthrosetherapie, Stosswellenbehandlung und Knochenbruchbehandlung. Er führt Behandlungen auch als Belegarzt in der Privatklinik Wehrle Diakonissen durch.
