Zudem stärkte er den Schwerpunkt Pneumologie durch Ausbau der Betten, Steigerung der Bronchoskopiefrequenz und personelle Aufstockung. Er ist zertifizierter Rauchentwöhner, Diplomierter Notarzt und hat eine Spezialisierung in Palliativmedizin. Dr. Rowhani ist Mitglied in mehreren Fachgesellschaften, darunter die Österreichische Gesellschaft für Pneumologie und die Österreichische Gesellschaft für Infektiologie und Tropenmedizin. Er ist auch ehemaliger Lehrbeauftragter der MedUni Wien und Vortragender an der Paracelsus Universität Salzburg. Sein Schwerpunkt liegt auf der Behandlung und Erforschung von schwerem Asthma.
