Priv.-Doz. Dr. Jörg Schmidbauer ist Facharzt für Urologie und Andrologie und als Oberarzt an der Abteilung für Urologie und Andrologie des NÖ Landesklinikums Thermenregion Baden-Mödling tätig. Seine urologische Karriere begann im KH der Barmherzigen Schwestern in Wien, später wechselte er an die Universitätsklinik für Urologie der Medizinischen Universität Wien, wo er seine Facharztausbildung abschloss und 13 Jahre als Oberarzt tätig war. 2003 erlangte er den Titel F.E.B.U. (Fellow of the European Board of Urology). Seine wissenschaftlichen Schwerpunkte liegen in der Diagnostik und Therapie des Urothelkarzinoms, insbesondere der photodynamischen Diagnostik (PDD) und optischen Kohärenztomographie (OCT). Er hat sich 2012 habilitiert und die Lehrbefugnis als Privatdozent erhalten. In seiner Wahlarztordination in Wien-Hietzing bietet er ein breites urologisches Leistungsspektrum an, darunter Vorsorgeuntersuchungen, Diagnostik, konservative Therapien sowie kleinere ambulante operative Eingriffe. Größere Operationen führt er persönlich im Landesklinikum Baden durch.
