Seit 2015 ist er als niedergelassener operativ tätiger Facharzt in Bad Vigaun, Privatklinik Salzburg und Diakonissen-KH Salzburg tätig. Dr. Thaler absolvierte zahlreiche Fortbildungen und Fellowships, darunter an der Mayo Clinic (USA), Universitätskliniken in Oslo, Dublin, sowie in den USA und Japan im Bereich Sportorthopädie. Sein Fokus liegt auf minimalinvasiver Chirurgie und einem breiten Spektrum konservativer sowie operativer Therapien für Gelenke, Wirbelsäule und Bewegungsapparat.
