Assoc. Prof. Priv.-Doz. Dr. Katharina Walch ist Fachärztin für Frauenheilkunde und Geburtshilfe mit Schwerpunkt gynäkologische Endokrinologie und Reproduktionsmedizin. Sie studierte Humanmedizin in Wien und promovierte 2001. Nach ihrer Facharztausbildung an der Universitätsklinik für Frauenheilkunde und Geburtshilfe am AKH Wien habilitierte sie 2009 zum Thema genetische Einflüsse beim PCO-Syndrom und erwarb die Venia docendi. Seit 2010 ist sie an der Abteilung für gynäkologische Endokrinologie und Reproduktionsmedizin tätig, seit 2013 stellvertretende Leiterin der IVF-Ambulanz und seit 2019 deren Leiterin. Sie ist Mitglied des zertifizierten Endometriosezentrums und engagiert sich in Lehre und Forschung an der MedUni Wien. Zu ihren Spezialgebieten gehören Diagnostik und Therapie des unerfüllten Kinderwunsches, künstliche Befruchtung (IVF/ICSI), PCO-Syndrom, Endometriose, wiederholte Fehlgeburten, hormonelle Störungen, Kinder- und Jugendgynäkologie, moderne Empfängnisverhütung, Schwangerschaftsbegleitung, Wechseljahre und Hormonersatztherapie. Sie legt Wert auf individuelle Beratung und Behandlung ohne Zeitdruck.
